We left Ireland on Tuesday and have now landed on the Anglesey peninsula. This was in the middle of a storm with strong gusts, but they had already accompanied us in Roundwood and Dublin.

The crossing in the storm was fun, not all Stena Line passengers were enthusiastic about it, I still have the feeling that the ground is shaking...

We already know Wales, I've already posted something about Abergavenney, now we've just landed in the northwest. We were there once before in 2016, but back then on the Llyn Peninsula.

Now we have made it to a campsite that is not far away from a hiking destination at the time. The first thing I noticed is that there are no signs, signs or anything prohibiting dogs. The first sign with Public Footpath was extremely positive because I was able to use it as a walk for the dogs. Yes, that is RELIEF! Finally no more restrictions, sheep standing behind a fence, paths that you can just walk on. For me that is pure luxury!

Plus this magical place! A few years ago we were only here to hike, but now we have a campsite right at the start of the hiking trail. The area is Newchurch, Newborough or Llandwyn Beach and Llandwyn Island, it is a forest on sand dunes that has been reforested for several decades.

I admired the broom and blackberries there in 2016, and that hasn't changed today. It is a mixed forest with pines, larch, birch and broom with blackberries, the latter have largely dried up or have already been harvested, but the path is as great as it was 7 years ago.

Nerone loved today's hike in the morning as much as I did, the rainbow was an unexpected treat, because the landscape with the Snowdonia National Park nearby is simply gigantic and beautiful. Hopefully we will go to the park, today was the first really relaxing hike since we got off the ferry in Rosselare. How much tension we were under because of this became clear today because I didn't always have to grab the leash, I could just walk past people. It was an enormous relief for me, even if the God of Mischief was of course pure prankster again.

I'm now looking forward to Snowdownia, the Coastal Path and other things and of course it's a huge advantage if it doesn't rain! It already does today, but not permanently...

There was even a risk of sunburn today!
