We were slowly heading further north of Brazil and today was another day of travel. At around 7:30 a.m. the Uber was ready to take us to the airport, where we took off for Sao Paulo at 9:40 a.m. sharp and landed there 50 minutes later.
The original plan was to fly on to Rio de Janeiro after a one-hour layover and, upon arrival, to pick up a rental car that we had already booked and drive three hours further to Buzios. We wanted to spend a few days in the hotel there and visit the beaches of the town to chill out a bit. But we scrapped the plan after we had spent two hours on the tarmac in the plane, the flight was finally cancelled and we couldn't fly to Rio until late in the evening. Since the weather forecast for our week on the beach in Buzios didn't look good either, we decided to stay in Rio and fly home a few days earlier. We quickly rebooked the return flight, found an apartment on the Copacabana and cancelled the remaining accommodation and the rental car.
At 8:30 p.m. we finally landed in Rio de Janeiro and took an Uber to the apartment. We then had a few groceries and dinner delivered to us before we could end the long day.
