For several days now, we have been looking forward to our next stop: Singapore - not only is the city supposed to be great, but we are also meeting Patrick's parents & aunt here. From the airport, you can perfectly take the MRT to the city center/hotel. Ours is located in the middle of the shopping area of Orchard Road. After exchanging information about our travels, we take the subway to Bayfront. Here stands the luxury hotel Marina Bay Sands. From the rooftop terrace, you have the best view of the skyline of Singapore. If you are not a hotel guest, you can go to a skydeck or the bar Ce-La-Vie (here you have to purchase a 20 SGD beverage voucher). From above, we enjoy the fantastic view of nightly Singapore with a cocktail. The hotel offers daily laser shows that you can view from below. In addition, there is a shopping mall and a casino that belong to the complex.
On the next day, sightseeing is on the agenda. We start in Chinatown: a very touristy neighborhood where you can find souvenirs. But you can also find delicious fruit juices here. At the end, there is the oldest Hindu temple in the city. Next, we go to Little India: here everything seems even more authentic. The shops mainly sell food. There is also a great food court. Our next stop is Raffles Place. From here, we walk to Boat Quay - a small promenade with restaurants. We also want to see the landmark of Singapore in Merlion Park, but unfortunately, it is currently being cleaned! Instead, we take a short boat trip. With a great view of the skyline, we pass Marina Bay Sands, Fullerton, Clark Quay and go to the Riverside and back. Afterwards, we walk around Raffles - the origin of the Singapore Sling. Of course, you can get it here according to the original recipe and served with peanuts. Finally, we visit Gardens by the Bay. At 7.45 & 8.45, there is a daily light show with music at the Supertrees. It's really a great spectacle.
Our next day is reserved for shopping, of course. Right next to our hotel, we walk from one mall to another. A dream come true for shopaholics.
For a short stay during a stopover, the city is really impressive and worth seeing. For us, of course, it is a great experience, also because of Patrick's family (thanks again ❤️!)
