After breakfast on the bus, we first head to Gelati Monastery, a Unesco World Heritage site just outside the city in the mountains. The most important building is the cross-domed church from the 12th century. There are also two other, smaller domed buildings, a bell tower and the academy building. Back in the city we walk up to Bagrati Cathedral. A monumental domed building with huge dimensions awaits us. Completed in 1003, it was the largest church in the country for a long time. There is a beautiful view of the city from the church grounds. Now enough story. We enjoy the atmosphere of the huge market hall and buy lots of vegetables for dinner. In the late afternoon, take the historic gondola lift to the top. The Ferris wheel there. According to the travel guide, a ride on it is said to be the most dangerous thing in Kutaisi. We dare to do it anyway and after the great views we get back to the bottom safely. Then take the cable car back to the city and to the parking space. We are alone and with the rain we fall asleep. 7762 km
