Before we can leave our campsite, we need to get the car ready. Now everything has to be put back in its place, the roof tent closed, the groceries and bags packed away. Then we start heading north at half past 10. Just before we finish packing, it starts raining and doesn't stop. At first it doesn't bother us, because it takes almost 2 and a half hours for the 120 km. The landscape is green and there are some villages with the typical red and sandy-colored English houses along the way. We finally reach Lavenham. The small town is known for its half-timbered houses from the Tudor period. When we arrive at the old market square, we have some instant noodles that we prepare in our small onboard kitchen. Then we put on our rain gear and explore the small town. The small and colorful half-timbered houses are beautiful to look at and we also visit a church from the year 1530. After half an hour we return to the car. In the next larger town of Ipswich, we stop to do some shopping. Unfortunately, we don't like the modern city very much, so we don't make any further stops. So we reach our campsite for the night around 4 pm. We attach a tent to the tailgate and have the opportunity to sit and cook in the dry. By the way, we cursed this tent during our trip to France 2 years ago, because we never needed it and it was always in our way. Now we are grateful for the decision to pack the tent.
We grill hamburgers on our electric grill and defy the weather.
