Singapore, the 2nd stop on our world tour..... and what a stop it was 😃. After a total of 13 hours of flying with a short layover in Johannesburg, we landed in Singapore at 7am local time. There was a lot of excitement when we realized as we were leaving the airport that one of us 🚺🤷♀️ had left our most important credit card on a seat in the area before passport control. Luckily, an attentive passenger found it, so we had it back in our hands 30 minutes later 😅. Our driver was very relaxed and not only waited with us, but also actively helped retrieve the credit card, which later earned him the tip of a lifetime 💰.
The 2nd positive experience was that even though we arrived 7 hours before the official check-in time, we immediately got a great room on the 8th floor, which didn't really match its room number. After taking a little nap, we explored the neighborhood, which is full of colorful houses and countless small shops and restaurants.
In the evening, we went downtown to Marina Bay with its breathtaking skyline and then experienced the indescribable light show at Garden by the Bay. I think I haven't been so speechless in a long time, and in the face of the magnificent huge buildings, the greenery that surrounds you everywhere, the cleanliness, and the evening light show in the "Supertrees," we stood there like little children with big eyes and an open mouth.
The whole thing was topped off with a 30-piece Satay combo at the Asia food court temple "Satay by the Bay" 😋😋
