First of all, the last day in Sydney and the program is packed. Today we still have: take the ferry to Manly, look at the pylons of the Harbour Bridge, and go up the Sydney Tower Eye.
For a few days now, I've been feeling a bit weak with an upcoming bladder infection. Today, I feel weak as well. But it doesn't matter, you're only here once, so let's go a bit slower.
The ferry ride to Manly takes 30 minutes. Along the coast of Sydney.
Manly itself has a beautiful beach.
Here, beach volleyball and surfing are done as school sports.
If you can. After half an hour of watching beach volleyball training,
(or did you think we were training) we had fish and chips. Watching makes you hungry after all. As soon as we had the food on the table, seagulls surrounded us.
I had seen how bold they are at the opera. There were 5 people sitting around a table and the seagull used a small free corner, flew onto the table, and stole a piece of meat from the soup bowl.
However, we felt like we were in Alfred Hitchcock's movie "The Birds." More and more birds flew in and watched us. It's a good thing the fish was in a bag. It wasn't fun, but it tasted good. Refreshed, we headed back.
Next, the pylons. So we rushed up the hill from the harbor over the 1/4 bridge, and of course, the entrance closes at 5:00 pm and it was 5:20 pm.
Well, then all we have left is the sunset on the Sydney Tower Eye. But before that, a frustration beer on the rooftop (that's a pub/bar on top of the roof) of the Glenmore Hotel with a view of the harbor and the cruise ship docked there.
I would have liked to see the ship sail away, but then we would have missed the sunset. We didn't know at that time that we wouldn't see the sunset anyway, after searching for the entrance for 15 minutes and then having to watch a 4-D movie without water (that would have been the 4th effect).
When we were on top of the tower, we could once again admire the extent of the clouds. We couldn't see the opera and the harbor from up here, but we could see the departing cruise ship.
But other than that, it was nice, although my energy battery emptied rapidly. I just wanted to go to bed and sleep.
