Have you ever felt that the world around you consists only of concrete and asphalt?🏢🏙 Then it’s high time for a break in nature! Just a few kilometers away from the hustle and bustle of Karlsruhe lies a small paradise that will enchant you: the Weingarten Moor.

Imagine driving along the B3, the landscape passing by. But suddenly, out of nowhere, a sign appears: 'Weingarten Moor'. The roar of the cars gives way to the chirping of birds and a gentle breeze that caresses your face.

With a little thrill in your stomach, you cross the road and follow the narrow path. The forest surrounds you, a green tunnel that transports you to another world. The air is fresh and damp, and the ground feels soft beneath your feet.

Soon you’ll reach the boardwalk, winding like a snake through the moor. Beneath you, the water sparkles, framed by a dense carpet of green plants. The croaking of frogs 🐸🐸🐸 is deafening, and with a bit of luck, you might spot a dragonfly 🧚‍♀️ darting across the water's surface. The sun breaks through the treetops, casting glittering spots of light on the dark, mysterious water. In rainy weather, we advise against using the boardwalk, as it becomes very narrow and, unfortunately, very slippery. If you want to get to know the moor more intimately than necessary, you should wait for a dry spell. ☺️

At the boardwalk, you’ll find a small hut. 🛖 Take a moment to enjoy the tranquility and observe nature. Perhaps you’ll spot a kingfisher,🐦 swiftly darting across the water, or a heron patiently waiting for its prey.

If you’ve had enough of the moor, you can continue your hike at the Grötzingen gravel pit 🏖. Here, you can relax on one of the many beaches, take a refreshing swim, or simply enjoy the view. It’s amazing how diverse nature is in this region!

The landscape on both sides of the B3 between Bruchsal and Karlsruhe is truly special. You can’t see it from the car; you need to get out and explore the wild land on your own.

Important: Bring a towel in case you take an involuntary dip! And a mosquito repellent. Good, non-slip shoes are essential; flip-flops should stay in the backpack. Pack your camera to capture the most beautiful moments. And don’t forget to clean your shoes before getting back in the car! 😁☺️
