San Francisco: Exploring the hilly city

San Francisco is an amazing city!

It was especially great because we got accommodations with another cyclist right next to Pier 39. A stroke of luck for us!

Of course, we visited all the tourist attractions ;)

- Golden Gate Bridge

- Painted Ladies

- San Francisco Cable Car

- Lombard Street

- Fisherman's Wharf

- Pier 39

- Musical Stairs at Pier 39

- Bay Bridge

- Union Square

- Castro (Lesbian and Gay District)

- The Mission District (Mexican District)

- And of course: ALCATRAZ

The day after our arrival, there was a race: the famous 'Bay to Breakers' race. You can imagine it as a carnival parade. Almost everyone was dressed up - and many were naked!^^

If you complete the whole 12km race, you get a medal, and if you do an extra 3km, you get another one, and everyone else participates just for fun.

It was really funny!

We made a huge portion of 'Tiroler Gröstl' for our hosts.
