Here in Antofagasta there are few, but then really nice corners. The Plaza Colón is very nicely laid out: several water basins (the pigeons love to bathe in them, but then look like plucked chickens), palm trees and benches. And the Big Ben in miniature size, compared to it.
In the Chilean post office I had to wait 40 minutes after the attentive guard helped me get a ticket from the number machine. No, it's not that simple to just pull a number. You have to select exactly what you want. Pure deceleration!
In the afternoon, I went in the other direction of this city and "Oh, look ..." I found the old train station with a museum. Well, I don't need to mention that it wasn't open.
At the harbor I was able to observe one, then two sea lions with an ice cream.
My backpack is packed again, accommodation booked in San Pedro. Tomorrow morning I will continue with the bus. This time not as long, but in two stages. First to Calama, then on to San Pedro. Looking forward to more nature and less city!
