Tag 300 - Cala Domestica Trail

Our day started again very cozy outside the motorhome in sunshine ☺️The region where today's bike trail is located was still enveloped in clouds.We observed the weather for a while and came to the conclusion that it will probably hold ☺️There was a brief discussion about whether we should start biking right away, but that would have meant an additional 18 kilometers, which would have been a bit too much for our bike batteries in addition to the planned 34 kilometers ☺️So we drove with the motorhome for about 30 minutes to the starting point.Once there, there were two parking lots: a regular one for cars and a separate one for motorhomes. We bought a ticket for the day and walked towards the beach.The place was located in a picturesque bay, with a beautiful beach and almost no other people. Here we sat down in a beach bar and treated ourselves to a Piadina with ham and cheese as a strengthening.We decided to stay here overnight, as it really made a peaceful impression and we were sure that we would be glad not to have to look for a new place after the trail. We informed the site owner, paid him the additional 5 euros, and were very satisfied with our decision.Now it was time to go! Backpack packed, changed clothes, and the bikes are ready. I took out our two sweaters from the backpack with the words "we won't need them for sure". A decision I would regret later.We rode through beautiful landscapes, first along the sea, then further and further into the mountains of Sardinia. It kept getting higher and higher and eventually we reached an abandoned house. There we decided to take a short break. We had almost no battery power left on the bikes, no cell phone reception, and because of the increasingly overcast sky, it was also getting really cold. At that moment, we regretted leaving our sweaters behind.But after just a few meters on the bikes, it was already warm again - the rocky, steep descent warmed us up again.The path led downhill again and my battery lasted until 150 meters before the finish line, and Kevin's battery barely made it to the end ☺️Now we deserve a relaxing evening ☺️We freshened up quickly, put on warmer clothes, packed some goodies in the backpack, and walked to the beach. We discovered a path that runs along the cliffs - away from the beach. Of course, we wanted to take a quick look at where this path leads. We followed it until we came through a kind of tunnel in the rocks and through the opening saw another secluded beach. That would be our spot for tonight!We sat there until it got dark and we were chased back into the motorhome by the temperature and mosquitoes ☺️So, my dears, that's it for today from us ☺️Take care and seeeeeeee youuuuuuu tomorrow ☺️
