Day 4 - Hall of fame

Whakaputaina: 27.07.2018

Thu, 26.07.18

Today is a day to sleep in. Because the weather forecast for today shows strong thunderstorms and mostly rain. So why get up early. However, at half past 6 I can't close my eyes anymore. Time to go to the rooftop terrace and start the day. Interestingly, I see the sun coming up - no sign of clouds and thunderstorms yet.

This allows me to comfortably write my report, enjoy the sun, and plan our daily program. After seeing a lot of the city in the past few days and covering about 15-20km each day, there is actually only one thing left on the agenda: Visit the NHL Hall of Fame.

So we make our way back to Oldtown. Via City Hall and the imposing courthouse, we arrive at the museum. Inside, we wander around a bit as the exhibition is somewhat disorganized. When we want to leave, we accidentally discover an entrance that leads us to the actual Hall of Fame. This is somewhat more dignified for the illustrious gentlemen :)

After being escorted out through the shop, we are back in the sun. No thunderstorm - that's good. We make our way to the hostel. Once there, we start talking to an Aussie (Nyle). Gradually, more people from all over the world join us: Edgar (SWE), Beth (AUS), Kieron (AUS), and Rosie (UK). And so, a funny exchange about traveling, stereotypes, languages, etc. takes place. The Planet Traveler (Hostel) lives up to its name :)

P.S. Although the weather got a bit rough in the evening, we stayed dry and were able to watch the distant lightning.
