Let's go - 'Slunge'

Whakaputaina: 30.07.2022

Tomorrow we start the West Highland Way. For this, we took a 30-minute train ride from Glasgow (arrival yesterday) to Milngavie. The trail starts right in the shopping street. In 8 days, we want to walk 154 km, with 5 nights in a tent, but also with a roof over our heads in between. In the end, we will arrive in Fort William. From there, our second stage on the Great Glen Way begins in 12 days, with 120 km to Inverness.

But today we first had to get organized, repack our luggage, buy groceries, and of course, enjoy the Scottish flair. As always, we have already had really nice encounters.

The backpacks will be heavy tomorrow because of all the food😅. But today we still make ourselves comfortable in a cozy accommodation, only 3 minutes away from the start. Hopefully, tomorrow we will report from the first campsite.

By the way... 'Slunge' is Scottish and means 'cheers' when toasting something. But it also means to stumble and fall in a clumsy, splashing way through water or mud. We can only hope that the first case will happen🤗. In this sense: 'Slunge'!!!

Good night and see you soon😉
