Arrived at Playa Las Dunas in El Puerto de Santa Maria. A relatively large, but beautiful place with even more retirees who want to spend their winter in the south. We decide to stay for 4 nights and take a trip to Cadiz. Across from the campsite is a small beach where you can directly see the bridge to Cadiz. The town of Puerto Santa de Maria is known for Spanish bullfighting and is home to the 3rd largest bullfighting arena in Spain. We, of course, do not support bullfighting in Spain. In our opinion, it is nothing more than animal cruelty! However, the town itself is very cozy and lively in the evenings. We still forget that there is a siesta and wonder in the afternoons why there is so little activity and most shops are closed. But when you go into town in the evenings, you will see that there is a lively atmosphere.
Cadiz is definitely worth a visit. A beautiful island with a great old town. The atmosphere of the city invites you to leisurely stroll around and spend a cozy day. We are getting closer to Portugal and the excitement for the Algarve is growing.
