The whole procedure here at Melbourne Airport has stressed me out. At the moment, we are sitting at the gate, waiting to board. But until then, it was pure stress for me. Probably because it's a domestic flight, there is no information desk to ask for assistance. Being a passionate non-flyer, I have no clue about the processes. We were standing around like fools. Finally, I managed to stop an employee who was going somewhere. Just as he came to help me at the check-in self-service terminal, many other fools came with different questions. In the end, I had all the documents to check-in, but I didn't know what to do next. Without me noticing, the helper had disappeared. So, we joined some random queue and luckily, it turned out to be the right one.
I am not made for flying!
Once we have landed in Perth, checked into our hotel, I will add an update to this entry. But that will probably be around noon or early afternoon your time. So please be patient.
I am writing this from the plane, which has Wi-Fi. We started with a two hour delay because some passengers had disappeared after checking in and couldn't be found. As a result, the already loaded luggage had to be searched for their suitcases. After they were finally found, they were removed from the plane. Only then did we take off. We still need about 2 more hours to Perth. Current time in Melbourne is 3:30 PM.
I should just not fly.
But we arrived safely, and we have rented a Holden Astra (which is an Opel Astra) with 5000 km on the odometer. We will be driving it until our return flight without any mileage restrictions.
We have already checked into the hotel. We will be staying here for five nights. We will visit a destination in the north and one in the east. Then we will head to the south. We have great weather here, as you can see from the photos. It's currently 26 degrees. It's supposed to get even warmer, but fortunately, the weather forecast doesn't predict it to be as hot as last week when it was supposed to reach 36 degrees. But like I said, thankfully, that's off the table for now.
