We started the second day of Christmas with training again, of course. I enjoyed it. By now, I have more or less mastered the box training routines and apparently have a strong left hook. 💪
After a short siesta, we headed to Abuela, Papa Carlos' mother. On the way there, we stopped at Obispado, a hill from which you can see large parts of Monterrey. The city is really huge and fun to look at, with a few skyscrapers standing out.
I was also welcomed with open arms by my paternal family, and there was delicious food there too - Tamales and Sopa de Frijoles. The neighborhood is really beautiful, a working-class neighborhood. Many colorful houses, playgrounds, music from all sides. I am enjoying the riot of colors. 😍
In the evening, we went to an Irish pub for dinner. However, there was no tonic, so I had to drink my gin with water. Good for the head, bad for the taste, but I don't want to complain, after all, I'm on vacation. 🤦♂️
Fun fact: I was surprised by the excessive number of auto-motels and was given a very enlightening explanation. Since everyone here, except for working or studying in other cities, lives with their parents until marriage (if it ever happens...), they have to find other places for rendezvous. I bet the motels are doing great business. 😂
Fun fact 2: Drinking in public is punishable, so first of all, an illegal "cheers" my dear! 🍻
