Moon landing

Whakaputaina: 30.11.2018

Our spaceship was not the Enterprise but a big double-decker bus, in which you can travel cheaply and comfortably in South America... except for a coke-addicted loser a few rows in front of us! 🙄

At first glance, we were a little frightened in San Pedro de Atacama because we had no idea what to expect, and the altitude (about 2500m, even higher on the drive) gave me a headache. On second glance, it turned out to be an interesting village that could score points with interesting tours. Because we were surrounded by volcanoes in the middle of the Atacama Desert, the driest place on earth after a part of Antarctica (yes, really!)!

So we were offered a unique landscape that had to remind us of the moon with its mountains/hills (Valle de la Luna)! We also visited geysers at an altitude of 4,600 meters, where we also bathed in a warm spring. In addition, there were numerous colorful lagoons that have 8 times more salt than the oceans, so we had no chance of keeping our feet on the ground and came out of the water completely white.

Furthermore, we went sandboarding🏂! You struggle for minutes to climb a dune up to 100 m high, just to whizz down for a few seconds! It wasn't in a good ratio, but it was still awesome! 😃 And my back held up easily!

And because every day ended with a beautiful sunset 🌅, it was downright romantic there. 🥰
