Sweden bike tour 1: Arrival via Copenhagen

Whakaputaina: 23.08.2023

My well-known group of cyclists had planned a tour again this year. This time it should go from Copenhagen (Denmark) to Gothenburg (Sweden), along the very well signposted Kattegattleden. Unfortunately, our "quota man" Max wasn't there this year because he had private commitments.

First of all, it must be said that this bike tour was the most complex planning in terms of arrival and departure so far, because we live in southern Germany and that's why
a) have a long journey and
b) very rarely come so far north that many of us wanted to combine our own vacation plans with our bike tour.

Enough of the forewords, in the night from Thursday to Friday Nico, Krissi and I drove off in the car. We picked up Anna in Fulda at 2 a.m., drove through the night and finally reached Copenhagen around noon. We were able to take turns sleeping in the car, but we still weren't quite fit. Nevertheless, we wanted to explore the Danish capital in the dreary, cool weather. We strolled through the old town, this pretty tourist harbor (no idea what it's called), found a bridal shop Nicola, watched jellyfish in the harbor area, marveled at the independent district of Christiania (where we struck up a chat with a nice lady who told us that there the police only checked in a few decades ago) and enjoyed the view over the town of Copenhill, a waste incineration plant that is so high that a ski slope leads down. all year round

In the evening we went to eat pizza. Then we got our luggage out of the car and left it in the parking lot on the street of our hostel, together with our bikes, which were secured several times. Due to the long journey and the 17,000 steps we actually took that day, we all fell asleep around 9 am.
