Ko Tao is the smallest of the three famous islands in the Gulf of Thailand. Here we spent three nights and realized that we should try to stay in one place for a longer time soon. The many travel days are slowly becoming exhausting 🙈 The island welcomed us immediately with a relaxed atmosphere, everything was a bit smaller and quieter than in Samui, but there is still a lot to experience here. It is full of diving schools and offers for activities in and on the water. We got snorkeling equipment and explored the different bays. Some were more or less accessible and due to the continuing cloudy weather, we initially had poor visibility. Nevertheless, we had the opportunity to photograph one or the other fish 😉 On the second day, we took a kayak tour to the neighboring nature reserve Ko Nang Yuan. These are two small islands connected by a sandbank. The tour was really fun and we were rewarded with a breathtaking viewpoint. There, we were also more successful at snorkeling, the weather was great and the water was very clear. In the evening, we met Alex again, who had just arrived.
All in all, we liked the atmosphere of Ko Tao better than Ko Samui. However, the beaches on Samui are more beautiful or we believe that Ko Tao is more suitable for diving and visiting bays from the sea side. Next time, when we have a diving license!
Now we are going to the last of the islands, to Ko Phangan!
