The sheer number of havelis in this small village gives an impression of the wealth generated by the silk and opium trade 150 years ago. Haven't seen any western tourists on our previous Shekawati destinations, it seems we are on the beaten track again. An abundance of haveli hotels caters to the needs of western tourists here, and there they are: The occasional couple wandering behind their 'no money'-guide, who will guide them to a shop in the end, to buy some Pashmina shawl imported from Kashmir. Still, there is a lot of charm to enjoy and a big bathtub in our lovely room in Chobdar Haveli.
