ALMOST !!!!! after yesterday's super gloomy introduction to the capital, we were about to leave in frustration and claim that Reykjavik can be safely skipped. Henning and Olaf's hut, a little church on the hill, okay... but the rest....
Today! With sunshine and lots of good tips, and an intro-with-local, a completely different, lovable, diverse and totally relaxed metropolis revealed itself that you should not miss. Just on the central square kilometer, you can easily spend a whole day in bars, small shops, restaurants, stores, exhibitions, etc. and never feel stressed. And by the way, anyone who claims that you can't eat well in Iceland was probably only at the airport - in our proven food ranking from 1-10, we give top marks every day :-)
For the sake of completeness, it must be said that the corona situation represents a special feature, both good and bad, and in 'normal' times, Iceland would probably have about 10 times as many visitors. Another factor is the current devastating, but unexpectedly advantageous, low exchange rate of the Icelandic krona - we graciously accept this and invest in the finest sandwiches, lobster soups, and, according to our own immodest claims, the best salmon in Europe ;-)
