51. Euboea -> Agias Annas Beach

Whakaputaina: 29.04.2023

51. Tag: Once again, we are greeted by a bright blue sky in the morning. We quickly set off for the island of Euboea. After Crete, it is the second largest Greek island and can be reached by car from Athens in just one hour. We reach it via a short bridge that leads directly to the main town of Chalkida. However, we don't stay there for long.

Euboea is an extremely diverse natural paradise. However, most of the natural beauties are very difficult to access. Not suitable for campervans or larger vehicles. That's why we head to the easily accessible Agias Annas Beach in the northeast of the island. The beach is several kilometers long and starts in the holiday village of Agkalis. After a leisurely breakfast on the beach, we tidy up. The winter clothes are finally banished from the closets.

After work comes play. For us, that means an extensive walk to the next and the next but one bay. There we encounter unexpected natural beauties. That's what beach walks are all about! In the furthest double bay, we refresh ourselves a bit in the seawater before heading back.

In the evening, we spend time with Daniela and draft beer in a rustic pub. We met Daniela on the beach. She is on a weekend trip with two of her four dogs. Today, she is a few hundred meters away from us with her camper van on the beach. The native Berliner has been living in Greece (at the foot of Mount Olympus) for many years and lovingly takes care of stray dogs.
