Our first vacation

Whakaputaina: 14.02.2018

So dear ones, this is my first post! First of all, let me say that this trip was already 6 years ago. But since I want to list all previous trips here as much as possible, I will try to reconstruct everything as well as possible ;) Unfortunately, back then I didn't keep a travel diary...this wonderful idea only came to me later, when the travel bug really got me. At that time, everything was still harmless ;)

When and where?

We started our journey in August 2012, both still tender 18 years old. Our first vacation together took us to the beautiful Julianadorp in Holland for a week. This was not our first time there, we had already been there twice with his parents in Holland and once on a class trip. So for the first time, we chose something that was already familiar to us.

The journey begins!

After 8 hours of exhausting driving in my car, which worked quite well considering the fact that we both had just recently obtained our driver's licenses, we were finally able to move into our cozy holiday apartment in the 'Strandslaag' complex. Small but nice :)

The first vacation days
Since we had summer-like temperatures of 30 degrees on the weekend of our arrival, we of course went to the beach on the first days! The beach in Julianadorp is really beautiful! Unfortunately, there is no shade there. The result was a pretty bad sunburn. And that in Holland! :D

Self-catering

As for food, we mainly took care of ourselves. Shopping is even fun on vacation ;) Every now and then we also treated ourselves to a delicious meal at the beach restaurant Paal. Unfortunately, I have forgotten which exact Paal it was. It is a chain that exists at almost every beach in Holland and is simply numbered. Paal 1, Paal 2, Paal 3 etc...actually very clever! :D

Of course, we didn't just lie on the beach for a whole week (at some point the weather didn't play along anymore). We also took a few trips in the surrounding area.
