From St. Maxime we drove to a municipal camp at Lac de Sainte Croix. The municipal camps are owned by the municipality and very affordable, here we paid 14.80€ for one night. The next day we rode our bikes to a rental station and kayaked into the Verdon Gorge. We were lucky and didn't have to wait or queue. We were also lucky in the gorge itself and it wasn't crowded yet. A dreamy atmosphere that we really enjoyed for 2 hours. Swimming in the river or lake was wonderfully refreshing. A truly great experience.
The next day we visited a small town in the mountains. Of course by bike. It took us 75 minutes to get there, but only 20 minutes to return. You can probably imagine the steep slope ;)
The next day we made ourselves comfortable by the lake. Some swimming, reading a book, chilling. Chris paddled around on the lake with his surfboard and I stayed in the shade.
In the end, we stayed here for 4 nights because it was simply too beautiful here.
On June 28th, we went to a camp in Greoux les Bains. Here we watched football in the evening and relaxed a bit. The heat was already getting to both of us. Luckily, there was also a cool pool here.
