Vientiane, a relaxed capital city

Whakaputaina: 29.11.2017

Upon arrival in Vientiane, we made our way to the Vietnamese Embassy to apply for our visas for another three months. After the police briefly stopped us because the traffic light was red (a nice smile and my Sorry Sorry Sorry appeased them), we had time for city walks and a glass of LaoLao (Laotian schnapps) with two tuk-tuk drivers. I also accidentally swallowed a butterfly that flew directly into my open mouth, and we found a fantastic vegetarian restaurant for our dinner.

The view from the hostel over the Mekong, Thailand, and the night market in the evening:

Yummy :)

The next day, Liz decided to pack her motorbike, Ho Chi Lee, into the night bus and return to Vietnam, while I decided to stay in Vientiane for a few more days and soak up the sun. Due to the great weather, I spent a lot of time at the swimming pool and taking walks through the city or along the Mekong. I also took a trip to the Buddha Park, about 30 km outside the city, where I admired statues from Hinduism and Buddhism.
