Day 13 - 15 Quebec Area

Whakaputaina: 19.09.2018

First, we'll have breakfast - there's a delicious French bakery right next to the gas station. Then we'll continue along Lawrence. Our first stop is Baie St. Paul by the water😀. The sun is shining, making the water perfect for a stop at a small beach area. But the water is ice cold... Then on to La Malbaie. Somehow, we expected more from the places. But the delightful summer weather keeps us cheerful.

On the way back, we'll visit the Basilica St. Anne in Beaupré. A impressively large church! The most interesting part of the church for me is two sections that are covered with supports and walking aids - thanks to St. Anne!!!

The next day is all about nature. First, we'll go to the St. Anne Canyon. It's worth the entry fee! Great bridges, boardwalks, and stairs lead through the canyon, offering new impressive views of the waterfall (which is higher than Niagara Falls). After about 1- 1.5 hours, we'll be done.

We'll continue to the Parc de Jardins and decide to take a 2-hour tour. The path goes up to about 750 m. And then you stand there and look out over the vast forests. I can't get enough of the beautiful view! But at some point, we have to leave😕. The return journey is faster than the way there.

We decide to drive to Quebec. Still very busy in the evening. We eat delicious food at Tournebroche and stroll through the alleyways before heading back to our vacation rental.

We spend the 15th day of our trip on L'Île d'Orléans. A truly beautiful tour on this agriculture-oriented island, which is reached by a bridge. Thanks to TripAdvisor, we know that the maple syrup farm is not easy to find - and sure enough, we drive right past it😀, but we can quickly turn around. We get a great explanation of how syrup is made and buy plenty. Unfortunately, you can't pay with a credit card, only cash. We're afraid we don't have enough cash - no problem. In that case, we receive a pre-addressed and stamped envelope, get cash from the next ATM, put it in the envelope, and take it to the post office. That's what I call trust!!! But we still have enough money - after all, these are producer prices without tax😂. On the way, we pass by a small business - half café, half jam manufacturer. ... luckily they take credit cards!

In the evening, back to French Quebec. We eat at La Buche - very delicious.
