Excursion to Are

The clouds pass quietly under our window. It is a great feeling to stand so high up and catch a glimpse of the sky that is hidden from everyone else in the valley.

After a nice breakfast on the terrace, we go on a little exploratory tour on a morning walk. Up or down? A hard decision.

We decide to go up through the forest. The wauzis were all equipped with a safety vest for safety.

The way up is quite overgrown and small. It looks more like a wildlife trail than a hiking trail. Nevertheless we follow the narrow path past the lonely forest hut. After a short time, however, we decide to turn back. The cowpat-sized excrements are a bit worrying 😅

Back at the accommodation we take a short break. The exertions and lack of sleep of the last week are definitely still in our bones. So today is a low energy day and we're going to be a little more relaxed.

Of course, the dogs were shown directly that they are only allowed to go through the front door when asked.

On our first real vacation day we have a day trip to the beautiful village of Are. Here we hope to find a pair of hiking shoes for Ian and of course a view of the adjacent large lake awaits us. Our expectations were definitely met.

We even found an outdoor gym on the shore of the big lake.

The training sessions on the pull-up bar definitely paid off 💪. Now I can get there and back with no problems. Nevertheless, I was able to hone my hand-hanging technique a bit to make better use of the forward momentum.

Now you definitely notice the wedding ring when hanging. But he has to go through with it. In the end, we decided to go with the ice matte finish so that scratches don't stand out 😂.

With blisters developing on your hands, it's then another short tour around the lake. It reminds us so much of the black lake at Hogwarts 😱. Krum is about to appear with his ship 😂

After our short walk we go to the nearby supermarket. We learned a lot of Swedish words 😂. To pay, we set up Google Pay beforehand, so there are no fees. That has worked well in the past 💪

Exhausted, we finally go back to the accommodation to end the day comfortably 🥰
