Hello dear ones, as promised, I'm writing to you again today from the main island of the Seychelles, Mahé. After spending three wonderful last days on North Island, I left the island today. Unfortunately, not by helicopter as hoped, but by boat. I will stay one more night on the main island before my flight to Dubai leaves tomorrow morning at 8:15. I'm staying in a small but nice AirBnb apartment here.
Last night, we climbed the Spa Hill for dinner to watch the sunset and then the starry sky. Since the stones were still warm from the sun, it was almost like having a seat heater, and I could have stayed up there all night. On the island, I got used to doing many things without shoes, so even on the last evening, I mostly went up and down the Spa Hill without shoes. It was easier than I thought.
This morning I had my last beach patrol and an an extra fresh coconut straight from the palm. Then I took a few final photos of the beaches for you and packed up. After lunch, there was a big farewell from everyone who accompanied and supported me in the last 4 weeks. I have really met great people who helped me with everything without question. I feel very connected to them as well as to the island.
As a small farewell gift, I received a necklace with a turtle made of stone. One of these wonderful people from the island carved it especially for me. Mega sweet, so I always have a great memory of this time.
On my journey to Thailand, I will have a layover of 10 hours in Dubai tomorrow. Here I will also have a look at the city and write to you again.
Until then, I wish you a great first Oktoberfest Saturday and have a beer for me :)
Your Alex
