Hello everyone,
On our way from Fox to Haast, we saw and experienced many beautiful things.
Together with our boss Paul and his best friend, we went to Bruce Bay for a sports festival. It was mainly about speed in splitting logs with an axe. It was very interesting because we had never seen anything like it before. In addition, there were face painting and games for the children. Women could bid on cakes or buy loose items, win cool prizes, or participate in a speed competition for making beds and setting tables. In the end, Paul entered Daniel in a competition where the goal was to saw a disc off a tree stump together, and he came in 2nd place.
Unfortunately, it rained a lot. When the event was over, we continued our journey.
Along the way, there is a very good and famous salmon restaurant. It is worth mentioning because from the cafe, you can see salmon ponds where the salmon processed at the cafe is bred. Freshness is definitely guaranteed, and you can taste it too :D
After that, we passed by Lake Paringa. A beautiful lake surrounded by small mountains. We only made a short stop there to take some souvenir photos.
Paul told us that he often goes fishing at Lake Moeraki and that it is very beautiful there. So we chose a nice spot and looked at the lake. Since it had just stopped raining, we took a few minutes to enjoy the scenery, the view, and the tranquility while eating an apple.
Next, we stopped at a viewpoint called Knights Point. It is an observation platform right by the road, where you have a beautiful view of the sea.
Finally, we stopped at the Shipcreek Doc Walk. Along this path, you can climb up an observation tower. From there, you can see the beach, the small bay, and the sea.
When we arrived in Haast, we first drove to the campground and booked a site.
It was an eventful but also exhausting day :)
