After arriving in Philadelphia on Thursday, we went to Independence Mall on Friday. We first visited the Constitution Museum there. It had a very interesting special exhibition on Prohibition and the main exhibition on the Constitution was also very interesting and had many interactive exhibits. After that, we continued walking on Independence Mall and also visited Liberty Mall. It was somehow not as impressive as expected because it's relatively small. After that, we went back to our apartment.
On Saturday, we didn't do much throughout the day. In the evening, however, we went to a Philadelphia Phillies baseball game. We walked around for a bit first and then watched the game. At the beginning, it was relatively boring, but it got more exciting towards the end and even went into an extra inning. Finally, to our delight, the Phillies won with a home run.
On Sunday, we went back into the city and first visited an Apple store because Fabian's headphones broke in his iPhone and we couldn't get them out. After that, we went to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch. They had huge portions, so we didn't get hungry for the rest of the day. In the late afternoon, we went to the Franklin Institute and the Philadelphia Arts Museum. Unfortunately, the famous steps at the latter were covered by a huge stage for the NFL Draft. However, we were still able to see the famous Rocky statue. Then we went back home again.
Today, we went to the bus station in the morning. There we took our bus to Washington DC, where we arrived after 3.5 hours and a traffic jam. We just checked into our hostel and will go out for dinner later.
See you soon
