We simply used the days at the camping site in Karlstad to relax and take it easy. We went for a bike ride and explored the city and surrounding areas, enjoyed the sun in our camping chairs, and took a walk by the lake.
Next to our pitch, there was a Swedish couple. She was born in Hamburg, he was Swedish. We got some tips from them for the next few days. So, after dinner, we looked into what we could see along the way and what interests us.
The route back home is set now. Let's see what else happens before then and if we stick to our plan.
This morning, we headed towards Stockholm. After about an hour of driving, we made a stop in Örebro. It's a beautiful little town that we highly recommend. Lots of old architecture, churches, a castle, a great old town, and much more.
MARC was getting impatient and wanted to continue. So, we got on the highway. It didn't take long before the onboard computer showed 3333,3 km on the display. Shortly after, we arrived.
Welcome Stockholm
We arrived at the campsite and paid for 2 nights. Then we put on our running shoes and went for a little exploration of the city. We enjoyed a delicious cider in the sun and noticed that it's not so easy with the Swedish websites and German credit cards.
We tried calling Germany, but that didn't work either. Great. We were really looking forward to the weekend excursion, following in the footsteps of Maria Wern. But we will figure it out!
Camping romance looks different, but it's the best alternative for a city tour.
MARC is doing well and seems to be comfortable under the highway bridge and with the roar of the planes. Will we say the same tomorrow?
