go partying

Paskelbta: 18.02.2023

I haven't been back in Spain for very long, to be precise, five weeks. But it already feels much longer because I've experienced a lot. I still get along great with my new roommate Marie. That's why we do a lot together. Almost every weekend, we went out partying or to a bar. We had some really funny experiences there. After my first party experiences in Barcelona in 2022 were pretty bad, the past few weeks more than made up for it. Three weeks ago, we had a really funny encounter with three guys in an Irish pub. One of them came up to our table and just shouted "rawrr" loudly, not just once but three times. His friends excitedly explained to us that that was his way of trying to find a girlfriend. He also gave my roommate some pretty interesting compliments that we still quote to this day. For example: "your eyes are penetrating" and when we were in the dark club: "you look even better in the dark". We went to the club with the three guys and other friends, but we had bad luck because it was Techno Night at "Razzmatazz" and none of us liked techno. The evening was still nice, but I wouldn't recommend Razzmatazz as a club to any tourists. The club is huge (3 floors with multiple dance floors), overcrowded, and overpriced.

The other clubs we went to convinced me more. The following week, we went to "Opium" with other friends, which is located at the beach in Barcelona. The drinks there were also quite overpriced, but the music was better. However, the men-to-women ratio was really bad, in the end it was definitely 80 percent men and 20 percent women. That's why we didn't feel quite as comfortable anymore and my friend and I then went back to Premia de Mar, where I saw the most beautiful sunrise of my life. I won't forget that anytime soon, just like the nice conversations I had with her. The next morning, we just chilled and ate together.

The following weekend, we went to "Downtown", where admission was free before one o'clock. There was some drama because I was partying with people I had just met and also with Marie and her friends. I gave a girl my jacket to take it away. But later she was so drunk that she couldn't remember and it took 20 minutes to get my jacket back. In the end, I got it back, and I learned to always take care of my own things. I liked "Downtown" the best because of its size and the music was good, and you didn't have to pay 20 euros admission. Yesterday, Marie and I wanted to go party there again, but we couldn't get in because it was too crowded due to Carnival. But strangely enough, it didn't bother us at all because we already had a really nice chill evening just the two of us at home and before that we were in a cool bar. So we happily and tiredly took the night bus home and sang "quedateeeeee" the whole time, a Spanish song that has been stuck in my head for weeks. Besides partying, a lot of other things happened to me, but that will be the subject of a second post in the near future, which hopefully you all will read with great interest ;)!<
