The Rapids - Bacalar

We woke up well-rested and had breakfast before heading to the famous Los Rápidos river. This river is perfect for drifting along and enjoying the ride.

We stored our belongings and got life vests. We walked along the pier until we reached the upper end of the river and then we entered the water.

We let ourselves drift until we arrived back at the small restaurant where we had started. We did this all day long. The water was amazing and the weather was so warm that it was more comfortable to be in the water than out of it. I was smarter than yesterday and wore my water shirt to protect my sunburned arms.🤭

After taking a refreshing shower, we went out to eat one last time. We decided to try a slightly more upscale restaurant that served delicious food. The seafood was fantastic. The dishes may have looked unusual, but they were definitely worth trying.

Unfortunately, it was our last evening, which was a shame. We both would have liked to stay longer. Bacalar was definitely my favorite stop.
