Tag 322 - Koh Lanta Old Town, Pirate Beach & Klong Khong Beach

Paskelbta: 21.12.2022

Hello everyone ☺️

After our usual morning ritual on the terrace with breakfast, we hit the road again with the scooter ☺️

Today we drove to the other side of the island, through the old town all the way to the south, where the road ended again.

Our first stop was in the old town, which tempted us to go shopping. It had various little shops and the salespeople were very friendly. We bought two shirts each and took a look at the assortment.

Afterwards, we continued south, passing through local villages until the road ended at a beach with one or two houses. This beach is called 'Pirate Beach' and we wanted to take a closer look.
So we started walking and after a short time, I discovered a cave in the cliff. I thought it might be the cave that you can visit on a tour and find a beach inside the cave. Of course, I wanted to see that! Kevin decided to wait and I went off to search for the cave, promising to let him know if it was worth it :)
Of course, it wasn't worth it and the supposed beach cave was just a small cave that went a few meters in.
But it was a lot of fun for me to walk along the cliffs, so it was still worth it :)
We found a large, flat stone at the bottom of the cliff and made ourselves comfortable there for a while.
I went a bit further into the sea to cool off, but turned back after pulling a branch full of nails out of the water....
Generally, the beaches on this side of the island are much less beautiful and mostly rocky instead of sandy like on the other side.

After the break, we continued to a nice restaurant with a great view.
There, we drank a cola and a watermelon juice, shared a portion of spring rolls and were horrified to realize that it was already 3:30 pm!

We decided to cross the island again and drive down to the southern part.

Again, we drove for a while, but there was no beach in sight.
We turned around and five minutes later we found a really cozy beach bar. There was actually mashed potatoes on the menu! My favorite food :) I couldn't resist, ordered, tasted it and was absolutely delighted! Really delicious, homemade and even the gravy was successful :)
Kevin stayed true to his fried rice - this time with chicken and he was also satisfied with his order.
We sat there until around 5 pm when we realized that our bodies had enough sun for the day....

On the way back, we stopped at a few food courts and bought a few skewers and a fried potato spiral with salt and cheese powder for later on the terrace. We have to say that we didn't expect cheese powder for the fried potato spiral, but real cheese.... The powder tasted a bit special, but without it, the potato spiral would have been amazingly delicious! :)

So my dear ones, we're still trying to get the bathtub warm somehow (the water tap only produces lukewarm water) and we're checking out for today ;)

By the way, we also booked a diving trip for tomorrow on the way back ;)
So there will be a few more pictures from the underwater world for you ;)

Take care and see yooooooooooooooooou
