Where is Bernie

Adventure is when you don't know how it ends. But what do you call an undertaking where you don't even know how it begins?

... whatever the case may be - The flight to Albuquerque (New Mexico) will be just like any other long-haul international flight, very long and very boring, but then it will get exciting, because where is Bernie? And who is he anyway?

But let's start from the beginning: While researching for a longer trip to the USA - preferably with a motorcycle - I eventually come across Bernie from Albuquerque on the world wide web. After a few emails, he offers me one of his motorcycles for my project - just like that!

So I can leave my own Yamaha at home with confidence. There's a little back and forth until all the details are clarified - for example: how do I connect my GPS to the power supply with American plugs? And now we're off.

Bernie has promised to pick me up from the airport...

Either it will be a huge flop and this Bernie and his motorcycles don't exist at all...

Or he's there, we somehow recognize each other, and Bernie and his wife are the generous, helpful, and friendly people that I imagine them to be based on what little I know about them. Then the introduction and the invitation to their house will be the first really exciting stage on the way to the roads beyond the red rocks.
