Mar del Plata Day 1

Friday 28.02.
The first appointment was at the Italian Consulate. As always, introduction of MotoForPeace and explanations of the goals. The next appointment was with the Mayor of Mar del Plata, Guillermo Montenegro. Since we had announced our visit here a few days earlier, there was a big media frenzy. By the way, the mayor used to be the Minister of the Interior under the Macri government. After that, a brief meeting with the bishop in front of the church. Finally, a meeting with a councilwoman at the city parliament. For lunch, we went to the representation of Italian immigrants. In the evening, we went to a biker meeting with live music on our motorcycles. Our motorcycles are a crowd pleaser everywhere we go. Of course, also because of our European license plates. Most people here ride small motorcycles, some South American brands like Zanella that we have never heard of. All large motorcycles are extremely expensive here due to import duties.
