Pichilemu. The small humble town reminds a little of the movie
Pichilemu. The small humble town reminds a little of the movie 'Jaws'. The small houses serve as weekend residences for Chileans.


When you look at the country on the map, you can see that it is more long than wide, which brings two things with it, namely that all places in the south are forever far away from Santiago, but the coastal towns are close. Like the tranquil Pichilemu, for example.

In the summer months, the residents of Santiago crowd here to shake off the pounds they have gained during the year with Zumba dancing on the beach, or to get a short stomach upset from eating large amounts of seafood.

No, we're not in Italy...And yes, beach idyll could look different. But Chileans like it.

Our last stop in central Chile, before flying to the island, is Rancagua. Again a place where you can rightfully ask yourself...Why actually...

Almost appropriately on my birthday, we leave Chile and thus the entire South American continent and read us again under the Caribbean sun.
