After spending so much time on the coast (of which New Zealand has plenty to offer), we headed back inland to Mount Cook. New Zealand's highest mountain is 3724 meters tall and supposedly its ascent is as challenging as Mount Everest's. We decided not to test that theory and instead took a walk along the Hooker Valley, where you not only get a stunning view of the majestic Alps, but also get to see a glacier lake with huge blocks of ice.
