South Lake District

Paskelbta: 11.02.2019

Another week has passed and now it's already been 3 weeks here in Manchester. On Sunday we went to the South Lake District, which is located in the north of England. It is known for its stunning landscapes and quaint English villages.

The arrival point is called Windermere, as you can see on the map. From there, we took a little boat tour to the northern end of Lake Windermere.

When I booked the trip, I was quite unsure if it was such a good idea. The description said you can do a lot of hiking and walking in the area, and the boat ride is a nice experience in good weather. The weather is rarely nice here in England, but we were very lucky and the weather was sunny at a pleasant 6°C. So for some English people, it's T-shirt weather.

If you're wondering what the famous Italians, whom I've mentioned before, look like, here's a photo of all of us. Francesco is the only male member of our group and he often complains about being surrounded by girls all the time, but I honestly think he's quite happy about it.

The first thing to do upon arrival: PHOTOS! Some members of our group went on the trip with the clear goal of generating a lot of pictures for their social media profiles, which is why we felt like we had to stop every 2 minutes to take a photo. I was able to capture one situation photographically. While all the girls were posing to get the most beautiful photos or checking if the other person was able to take a photo of them, Francesco preferred to stand around and unpack his biscuits that he had bought on offer, 3 packs for 1 pound, and enjoy them fully surrounded by women and annoyed that it took so long for everyone to take their photo.

The boat ride to the other end of the lake took about 30 minutes and was colder than expected. But it was worth it because the landscape in the national park is really beautiful.

Unfortunately, we only had about 7 hours of stay, so time went by relatively quickly. Lastly, we went to a viewpoint. From there, you could see the entire lake.

That was the South Lake District. Stay Tuned!
