24.08.16: Shopping, Shrine, and Beach

First, I went to Canal City, the huge shopping mall is a world of its own, you can easily get lost in it. It is actually known for its beautiful canals, but unfortunately they were dry when I was there :(

On my way to the bus, I passed by Sumiyoshi Shrine, which is actually quite unspectacular, except for the deity residing there, who is also worshiped as the god of Sumo and looks accordingly.

After a VERY long bus ride, I arrived at Fukuoka Tower, a tower that actually serves no commercial purpose except as an observation deck. Behind it was a beach, so I (at least with my feet) bathed in the Pacific Ocean. It was also interesting that a huge brand new church stood on the beach. But it wasn't religious, just a beautiful wedding venue.
