In the late morning, we leave Gothenburg heading towards Trollhättan. We have about 2 hours of driving ahead of us to get there. Along the way, we experience the center of southern Sweden with its beautiful landscape.
Trollhättan is known for its lock system and power station, used by the large energy company Vattenfall to harness the hydroelectric power of the Göta River.
We park at Trollhättan's beautiful church and explore the surroundings until we position ourselves on the bridge at 3 PM to enjoy a special natural spectacle. In August, Vattenfall opens the locks daily at 3 PM, releasing 300,000 liters of water per second into the river valley.
