My first week is over, time to finally write something. I am currently in Salvador de Bahia (Brazil), more precisely in the neighborhood of Barra. I'm taking a three-week language course here, hoping to be able to communicate better with locals afterwards. However, the language course is not in English as expected, but in Portuguese (which is a bit more complicated than I thought :) )
Otherwise, I spend my days learning, sitting on the beach and devouring passion fruits, pineapples and coconuts... ;)

On Sunday, I went on a boat tour to the islands of Itaparica and Ihlas dos Frades with others from my course. The latter is a small protected island with a paradisiacal sandy beach and tropical forest.

My 'blog' will probably not be so exciting in the next two weeks, but if you feel like it, you're welcome to stop by to see what I'm doing on the other side of the world...
