The day was to start well again. After getting up, our landlord msg took us to Pietralonga, where we first had a cappuccino and a croissant in a bar. Then we set off again. And it was clear that we would cleverly avoid the strange detour that the Cammino suggested up a mountain, so we chose the country road through the mountains, and we only encountered five cars on the way to the village of Mocaiana. In Mocaiana, the valley widened again and became an agricultural plain, which then showed more and more industrial buildings the closer we got to Gubbio. In other words, the last section of the path was not as interesting or cozy.
Gubbio, on the other hand, is very impressive. Even from afar, the towers of churches and palaces tell of the city's history. Even before the city gates, the clearly visible ruins of a Roman theater point to the city's long history.
Our hotel, or rather a holiday apartment, was in the middle of the old town in one of the many small and large palazzi. A very beautiful apartment with a medieval flair.
In the evening we met up with Timur and his fellow travelers in a pizzeria in an old vaulted cellar. So far, the best starter platter of the entire tour. Once again, one of those beautiful and unique days on the way from Florence to Assisi.
