Day 13

From Toledo, where we only made a stopover to check out Tony Packo's Café, to Erie.

This café is referenced in M*A*S*H when the gang orders hot dogs there. The character Max Klinger, as well as his performer, are from Toledo, Ohio.

The place looked decent, the area not so much...

So onwards to the east. Only about 3.5 hours drive today. Today with the ARD radio play Korridore. This is for fans of quirky horror with many references to real events.

Straight from the hotel to Presque Isle State Park in swimwear. I was there 20 years ago in autumn with Detlef 🥰

No parking fee required here! Instead, there are kilometer-long beaches, 13 according to the above website.

The water temperature was quite pleasant, I'd estimate around 24°C or more. The outside temperature was about 25 to 26°C, overcast sky and occasional raindrops.

On the beach, in addition to the many pieces of driftwood, there are many flat stones! Great for skipping, if you can 🤣.

At Sara's, we then had the well-deserved final burger! And for me, Rootbeer 😜 I've acquired a taste for it. If you mix it with water, it's not as sweet 😆
