After the beautiful Lac Afnourir, we stayed in a hotel in Beni Mellal for a night, albeit unintentionally, because we couldn't find a cozy camping site.
The following day, we took the R 317 track near El Ksiba. There was a Sunday market happening, and it was huge. In addition to the typical market offerings such as clothes, fruits, and vegetables, there were also sheep, goats, turkeys, rabbits, and chickens. There were also sanitary, electrical, and car parts in an additional section. The treatment of the animals did not exactly align with Swiss animal welfare standards. But 4 chickens stay fresh longer in the heat if you tie them alive to your bike handlebars. Of course, visiting the market also meant visiting a restaurant for the obligatory Moroccan tea, which is a peppermint tea, and a coffee with Arabic script foam.
Next, we followed the track, which was not gravel as described, but rather a comfortably drivable asphalt road with almost no potholes. We camped on the small campsite by the beautiful Lake Tislit at 2200m. During the day, it was 22 degrees, and at night in the tent, it was 6 degrees.
