My trip in Thailand started in Bangkok. After a one-day stay, I continued to the island of Koh Kood, located in the east of the country near the border with Cambodia.

Koh Kood is very idyllic as the island has not been overrun by mass tourism. There are some beautiful beaches, which, although not isolated, are not very crowded. For me, they are among the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen - fine sandy beaches and turquoise clear water.

Unfortunately, my accommodation was not located on the beach but in the middle of the forest. But after a short walk, I was also by the sea. The weather was perfect, bright sunshine and very pleasant at around 27 °C. The Thais there said it was quite cold at the time - I could only laugh because I was glad it wasn't warmer.

The best way to explore Koh Kood is by scooter, so I rented one for a day and drove around the island. I made stops at various beaches and visited the most famous waterfall.

It was supposed to be a few relaxed and isolated days, but on the third night, I got a roommate (or rather a pet). The animal superhero was a gecko and was named Felix :D. I read on the internet that calling an exterminator is useless if you have a gecko in the house because the gecko is the exterminator as it eats all kinds of insects - it's also useless to take him outside because he will come back. So we made an arrangement - fortunately, Felix didn't want to sleep in the bed but was satisfied with the wall. However, I would have preferred him not to be on the wall above the bed. In the end, our relationship was distant, and after a day, Felix decided to move out without saying a word. I was okay with that, so I could enjoy the rest of my stay peacefully for one more day.
