-Chapter 34- Backwoods, annoying park rangers & journey to the Golden Bay

Since we arrived on the South Island, the summer heat had broken out. Every day there was scorching heat and the blazing New Zealand sun. That was also the case when we stopped in Motueka, the last major city before Abel Tasman National Park. Unfortunately, we didn't like this city at all. There was a real traffic chaos, and we lost Flori several times. We spent the first night at a free campground, a parking lot in the middle of the city. There were plenty of backpackers and no shade. In the huge field next to it, a helicopter landed in the afternoon, and in the evening, an old, reasonable man came around to offer us work. He only said that he and a buddy lived in the mountains and he needed someone to do cleanup work on his farm. Although he didn't give specific answers to our questions, he seemed very nice. It didn't sound too bad, so we had the email with "more information" sent to us, with the intention of calling there. However, the email turned out to be a confusing mail with hardly any information.
