Asti - Rapallo - Portofino, 22-23.9.2019

As predicted, it rained all day and we covered several kilometers. From Asti, we drove through Aqua Terme and Sassello, a beautiful mountain village where we stocked up on fresh cheese and Parma ham, to the sea at Varazze. In pouring rain, we crossed Genoa and marveled at the huge cruise ships. In Rapallo, we found a place to stay overnight.

In the morning, it kept raining intermittently, and only around noon did it clear up. We cycled to Rapallo, walked through the alleys, and treated ourselves to an aperitivo. Then we drove up and down the hills to the next town, Santa Margherita Ligure, and even further...

The road meandered along the coast, passing by small beautiful bathing bays, and suddenly - Portofino was in front of us! A small fishing village with pastel-colored houses, small boutiques, and fish restaurants. It was bustling with tourists and expensive yachts! We climbed up to the Castello and had a fantastic view of the bay! We had already reached our first dream destination! 🥰
