Sunday, April 30, 2023, at 22°C, cloudy to sunny, strong gusty wind.

For the transition between Spain and France, we decided to take the coastal route. It was difficult to convince the woman from our navigation app not to drive too much off the road. This way, there are fewer meters of ascent and no pushing sections.

Spain had a few raindrops for us today for the first time in over 30 days (it cried because we are leaving). In France, a strong wind blew against us. The wind was so strong that it stopped us while going downhill (6-8%). The route led from Llanca to Argeles Sir Mar, a total of 46 km and 900 meters of ascent on a very winding road.

But we had a magnificent view. Right after the border, on the French side, there were wildfires in the past few weeks. Kilometers of vineyards and vegetation were destroyed, and it still smelled of burn.

This must be a wine region because what they charged for 0.25 liters of beer at the hotel is extremely expensive.

Our bikes are sleeping in the laundry room tonight. They could also use a wash 😁.
