Hello dear ones,
yesterday and today were very exciting days. both emotionally and in terms of our experiences.
Yesterday (23.03) was our last day together. We got up early and took the Christchurch Gondola. It's a bit expensive, but the view is definitely worth it. On clear days, you can even see all the way to the New Zealand Alps. Unfortunately, we couldn't because it was a little cloudy. But the view of the city and the sea was very beautiful. After a short walk, we went back down with the gondola and headed towards the sea. There, we randomly discovered a sculpture garden where some people were working on their crafts.
Afterwards, we took a stroll on the beach and discovered some very pretty seashells. Then we continued along the coast until we found a cafe directly on a pier and had a little drink there.
Afterwards, I applied to a few restaurants and got accepted for my room here in Christchurch. I can move in tomorrow, Saturday the 25th of March. We had dinner at one of the restaurants where I applied to see what the atmosphere is like. After that, we just packed our suitcases and prepared for departure...
Because this morning (24.03), I took my mom to the airport very early so she could start her journey home. Those who know us know how difficult saying goodbye was for us. But we have to go through it.
Afterwards, I went to the hostel where I'm staying tonight. It's called All Stars Inn and I have to say, the rooms are really clean and cozy. I even have a TV with Netflix all to myself, since no one else has moved into my room yet. I spent the day applying and looking for rooms in the next town, so I can prepare for my next stop. I also chatted with a few other backpackers, but I realize that not many people travel alone. And I find it difficult to fit into groups. But let's see how it goes tomorrow in my new accommodation.
I wanted to say that there probably won't be a daily blog in the near future, because I'm now in one place and spending my days looking for jobs. If there is anything to report, I will of course keep you updated.
See you soon,
Jessi
